To commemorate the September 12th release of the film "Beethoven Fabrication" (directed by Seki Kazuaki), Junkudo Bookstore's Osaka main store (Kita-ku, Osaka) will begin a panel exhibition of the film from August 15th, and will also set up a special corner with books related to Beethoven, including the original book, until September 15th.
Additionally, Junkudo Bookstore Osaka Main Branch and MARUZEN & Junkudo Bookstore Umeda Branch (Kita Ward, Osaka City) will be distributing 20,000 original bookmarks exclusive to Junkudo Bookstore. The distribution will begin on August 30th and will end once stocks run out. The bookmarks will be inserted into the book for book purchasers, but will also be provided to non-purchasers upon request.
The film is based on Shiho Kagehara's historical non-fiction book "Beethoven Fabrication: A Famous Producer Lies" (Kawade Bunko), which tells the story of the scandal involving Beethoven's secretary, Schindler, who also wrote his posthumous biography, significantly altering the phrasebook Beethoven used after he lost his hearing.
The story of the film is about a faithful secretary, Schindler, played by actor Yuki Yamada, who, driven by a sense of mission to protect his idol Beethoven, played by Arata Furuta, strives to turn him from a "vulgar, dirty old man" (the truth) into a "divine genius musician" (the lie) after his death. The screenplay by comedian Bakarhythm is also a hot topic.
