The lineup for Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM), which will air from August 11th to 15th, has been announced. On the 11th, singer Ayako Fuji will appear, on the 12th actor Kunio Murai and his wife Mikiko Otonashi, on the 13th actor Mami Nomura, on the 14th comedy duo Masuda Okada Keisuke and Masuda Hidehiko, and on the 15th Nagasaki atomic bomb survivor Fumiko Morita and her daughter Kyoko Morita will appear.
Fuji is 64 years old and has been married to her husband for eight years, since she remarried in 2017. She spends her days happily with two rescue cats she adopted six years ago. She says she became close with pianist Fujiko Hemming, who passed away last year, through cats.
Next year, Murai and Otonashi will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. In February, their daughter, Mayumi Murai, left home to get married. Murai, who has played the role of the bride's father many times, apparently became nervous when her daughter's husband congratulated her on her marriage.
Nomura made his acting debut at the age of 20 and turned 60 last year. He apparently celebrated his 60th birthday while traveling in India. He says he is spending his time with his 90-year-old mother in a positive manner, with the goal of "never giving up on care." He says it is important to interact with his mother in a nursing home in a cheerful manner.
Both Masuda and Okada are now in their 50s, and it seems that many things have changed. Masuda has noticed something strange about his hair, Okada has frozen shoulders, and that joke has come back. Okada divorced eight years ago, remarried six years ago, and had a baby boy.
Fumiko Morita lost her parents and three younger brothers in the atomic bombing of Nagasaki when she was 16 years old. She had sealed away her memories for 75 years, but at the age of 91, a certain incident prompted her to speak out about her experience of the bombing for the first time on social media. "I will definitely live a long life and continue to share my story," she says.
