The first anthology of Fujiko F. Fujio's popular manga "Chimpui," "Special Chimpui: Fluffy and Squishy Cute Edition" (Shogakukan), was released on August 7th. It features an adorable story about Eri, a girl chosen as a candidate to become the queen of Planet Marl, and Chimpui, a mysterious creature who has come to look after her. A special edition with a Chimpui acrylic keychain was also released at the same time.
The book also includes an explanation by actress Mizuki Yamamoto. She talks about her love for "Chimpui," including how she first encountered Chimpui through her father, who was a huge Fujiko fan, and how she fell in love with its cuteness at first sight, and why she feels Eri is a heroine perfect for the Reiwa era.
The latest volume of the "Doraemon" masterpiece selection series "Totteoki Doraemon", "Totteoki Doraemon Rolling and Shining Cute Edition", was released in both a regular version and a special version with an acrylic key chain. The commentary page features RIO, RIKU, and MAYUKA from the girl group "NiziU".
