Synopsis of Episode 5 of "Tomorrow Will Be a Better Day" released

The synopsis and stills from episode 5 of the Fuji TV Getsuku drama "Tomorrow Will Be a Better Day " starring Haruka Fukuhara (aired on Mondays at 9pm) which will be broadcast on August 4th have been released.

Tsubasa Natsui (played by Fukuhara) performs a handmade picture story for the children at the temporary shelter. While the children criticize Tsubasa's drawings, the brothers Kanamu Anzai (played by Sojiro Chiba) and Kanamu Otokida (played by Saku Otokida) seem to like them. Tsubasa tells the brothers that their mother, Yumeno (played by Ichika Osaki), is also studying hard so that they can live together.

Taichi Hachimura (Shunsuke Kazama) is scheduled to meet his son Kota (Kira Miura), who lives with his ex-wife Saori Kudo (Yuko Fueki) after his divorce. Suddenly, Kota shows up at the Hamase Child Guidance Center, asking to stay over because he had had a fight with Saori. However, upon checking with Saori, it seems they hadn't had a fight.

The news comes in that 13-year-old Itokawa Ren (Masakaki Minato) has been taken into custody after setting fire to a shrine. Ren lost his mother last year and has been living with his grandfather Kida Shigeru (Hotaru Yukijiro). His father Goro (Hirayama Yusuke) is apparently working away from home.

Hachimura, Kurata Sosuke (Hayashi Kento), and others listen to the story of Shigeru, who has come to the child consultation center. Shigeru doesn't even speak to Ren, saying, "Please take care of this guy," before heading off. Ren's mother had suddenly stopped treatment while battling colon cancer, and passed away a few weeks later.

Hachimura asks Shigeru why he doesn't talk to Ren more. When Shigeru finds out that Hachimura also has a child, he replies, "What should I say to Ren, who lost his beloved mother at that age? What would you do?" Hachimura is at a loss for words...

The screenplay was written by Tani Aohito of the theater company Jikan Production, and the story is set in a seaside child consultation center. The heartwarming story follows the protagonist, Natsui Tsubasa (Fukuhara), who is suddenly transferred from the violent crimes division of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police to the child consultation center. As a new child welfare officer, he comes into contact with a variety of children and parents and grows together with them.
