The NHK morning information program " Asaichi " (General TV, Monday to Friday, 8:15 am), Caster by the comedy duo "Hakata Hanamaru & Daikichi" and announcer Suzuki Naoko, will air on July 28th under the title " Satoshi Tsumabuki Goes to Okinawa: A Special Project to Mark 80 Years Since the End of the War," featuring 44-year-old actor Satoshi Tsumabuki's journey around Okinawa, which he describes as his "second home."
Tsukamoto fell in love with Okinawa while filming the movie "Nada Sou Sou" (2006), in which he starred at the age of 26. He also played the role of a Japanese military officer in the currently airing NHK Asadora drama "Anpan," and this led him to want to learn more about the war and Okinawa, where great sacrifices were made, and to share that knowledge with as many people as possible.
The program will cover the Okinawa soba noodle restaurant that Tsukamoto frequents, the little-known side of the tourist destination Chatan, the untold story of the museum that conveys the memory of the Battle of Okinawa 80 years ago to future generations, traditional Eisa, and the current state of the military base town. The guests will be Tsukamoto and John Kabira.
