"Bura Tamori" (NHK General TV, Saturday 7:30 pm) is a popular variety show in which the entertainer Tamori visits various towns. On July 26th, following on from the previous week, the stage for the trip will be Hakodate, Hokkaido, where he will uncover the secrets of this popular tourist city that ranks first in the nation in the city and town attractiveness rankings.
How did the red brick warehouses at the port, the churches lining the slopes, and the exotic townscape come into being? It is said that the 10 major fires that struck the city after the Meiji period and the fire prevention measures taken to prevent them helped Hakodate evolve into a sophisticated town, and Tamori is also excited to learn about the mysterious underground temple that supported the rapid population growth.
Hakodate specialties such as salt ramen and Western food will also be featured.
Tamori's travel partner will be NHK Hiroshima announcer Mana Sato, and the narration will be provided by singer-songwriter Aimyon.
