It has been announced that the TV anime " Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling " (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Dragon Egg), based on Nekoko-san's light novel, which was born from the novel posting site " Shosetsuka ni Naro ", will be broadcast in 2026. It will be directed by Yuta Takamura, and produced by Gakyou and Felix Film. The first key visual, which depicts the main character Ilcia happily walking through the forest and the heroine Millia smiling gently, as well as a teaser PV consisting of expressive scenes of Ilcia's daily life after evolving from an egg into a baby dragon, have also been released.
Director Takamura commented, "In the natural world, you can't survive unless you're strong. I hope you will witness the dragon's way of life, as he evolves by feeding on the people, animals, and environment he comes into contact with, and overcomes difficulties even though he gets hurt."
Series composition director Tatsuhiko Urahata said, "The protagonist is reincarnated as a dragon egg in a forest full of predators. How will he grow and who will he meet? I hope everyone will experience it with us!", and monster designer Hiroyasu Oda said, "I hope you enjoy watching Ilcia, who is clumsy but grows and changes both physically and mentally as he faces problems and makes decisions."
Otani Sachi, who is in charge of the music, commented, "When I received the script and started reading, I was so absorbed in the fun that I couldn't stop reading for the first time in a long time! When I attended the music meeting, Director Takamura told me that he wanted the musical concept to be psychedelic trance! Oh, I see. It's a genre I've never tried before! After researching and learning a lot, I succeeded in combining it with the orchestra, rock, and ethnic music that have been my career up to now. Director Takamura and the rest of the production staff really liked it, so we dove headfirst into composing around 60 songs. I can't wait to see the finished product!"
The story depicts the adventures of the protagonist, Ilcia, who is reincarnated as a dragon's egg. The anime stars Shunichi Toki as Ilcia, Ami Koshimizu as the voice of the god who guides the protagonist, and Miku Ito as the heroine, Millia.
