Photos of Inoue Yuki in costume as Matsudaira Sadanobu in the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sundays at 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama Ryusei, have recently been released.
Matsudaira Sadanobu was entrusted with the task of rebuilding the shogunate, which was facing financial difficulties and a breakdown in public morals, and was appointed chief senior councilor under the 11th shogun, Tokugawa Ienari (played by Shiro Kairi). In contrast to the glamorous, commerce-oriented policies of Tanuma Okitsugu(played by Ken Watanabe), he carried out the "Kansei Reforms," which included thorough frugality, rural revival, discipline of public morals, and the encouragement of Neo-Confucianism. He was also strict on townspeople's culture, and strengthened the control of publishing of sharebon and kibyoshi books. This also had a major impact on the publishing activities of Tsutae (played by Ryusei Yokohama ).
Inoue will take over the role of Kokoro Terada from Tayasu Masamaru , and will appear from the 29th episode (scheduled to air on August 3rd) onwards.
" UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
