It has been announced that the popular light novel series "The Frontier Lord Who Started With 0 Subjects" by Furou, which has sold over 2 million copies in total, will be adapted into a TV anime. It will be directed by Kenichi Imaizumi and produced by animation studio 42. It was also announced that Kenichirou Matsuda will play the main character Diaz, and Shion Wakayama will play the heroine Alnar.
The work is a "territory development slow-life fantasy" that begins with a fateful encounter between Diaz, a new lord, and Alnar, a blue-horned demon girl. The impressive teaser visual of the anime, featuring Alnar standing in the remote grassland of Netzrose, and the promotional video announcing the anime adaptation have been released.
Matsuda commented, "I read the work during the audition, and I felt that it was an idyllic, very warm piece. I think the warmth comes from the personalities of Diaz and the people around him. As a cast member, I am looking forward to seeing how the anime will portray his encounters with various races and cultures, and the turmoil surrounding the territory. I will do my best to bring out the charm of Diaz, who is strong, kind, pure, and a little bit naive. Thank you for your support!"
Wakayama said, "I can't contain my excitement at the thought of being able to see my life with Diaz in the anime...! I will do my best to play the adorable Arna, who is both my lover and wife(?)!"
