Screenwriter Shizuka Oishi will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 pm on July 17th. She has written many hit scripts, including last year's taiga drama "Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)," which became a hot topic.
While writing "To Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)," at the end of 2022, she lost her husband, with whom she had been married for 45 years, to lung cancer. He was diagnosed with cancer in September of the same year, but because the lesion was in a place that made surgery difficult, he was unable to undergo surgery or chemotherapy, and he passed away three months later.
Since her husband was always doing the housework, Oishi was busy with both housework and nursing care, and was unable to balance her work on the screenplay for "To Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)". Even so, Oishi seems to have no regrets about having completed her nursing care. She says that she discovered something in her husband's wallet while sorting through his belongings.
