The second episode of the TV drama series "The Kidnapping Day" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm), starring actor Saito Takumi, was broadcast on July 15th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 5.6% for households and 3.1% for individuals.
This work is a human mystery based on the drama of the same name (2023) that became a hot topic in Korea. It depicts the story of the kind-hearted and clumsy kidnapper Shinjo Masamune, played by Saito, and the amnesiac genius girl Nanase Rin, played by child actor Yuno Nagao, being chased by unidentified men.
In the second episode, Shinjo is questioned by Rin and finally confesses the truth. When Rin tries to call the police for help, the memory of the day she was kidnapped flashes back to her. On that day, as Rin desperately ran away from "something," she saw the lights of a police car. Could the culprit have been a police officer?! Now unable to trust even the police, Rin goes on the run again with Shinjo... and so the story unfolds.
