The drama series "Broadcasting Station Occupy" starring Sakurai Sho (NTV, Saturday 9pm, 10 minutes extended for the first episode) will begin on July 12th. This is the third installment of the "Occupation Series" in which Sakurai plays the hot-blooded detective Musashi Saburo, and is set one year after the previous work "New Airport Occupation."
The "Occupation Series" began with "Hospital Occupation," set in a huge hospital occupied by a mysterious armed group, and was broadcast in 2023. A sequel, "New Airport Occupation," set in a newly completed airport, was broadcast in 2024. In this episode, Musashi, a detective in the Kanagawa Prefectural Police First Investigative Division's Violent Crimes Unit, is transferred to the Metropolitan Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division's Hostage Crime Task Force (BCCT), but gets caught up in another occupancy incident and begins an investigation with new allies.
Also appearing in the cast are Manami Higa as Musashi's wife Yuko, a cardiac surgeon, Sonim as BCCT administrator Izumi Sakura, and Fuma Kikuchi as Yamato Koichi, the Blue Demon, leader of the armed group "Yagyo of One Hundred Demons" who fought a deadly battle with Musashi during the "Major Hospital Occupation" incident.
In the first episode, one year after the airport takeover incident, Musashi, who has become a BCCT investigator, faces the "worst day in history." An armed group wearing monster masks and calling themselves "Ayakashi" takes over "TV Nippon," which is broadcasting a special program for the Tokyo gubernatorial election. They threaten, "We, the Ayakashi, have taken over this broadcasting station. If you stop broadcasting, we will kill all the hostages."
There are 500 hostages. The Tokyo gubernatorial candidate, TV program staff, Caster, actors, and even Musashi's wife Yuko and daughter Emiri (Yoshida Honoka) are in danger.
Musashi, along with Sakura, Shima (Gunpii), Honjo (Kumi Takiuchi), and new friends from the Metropolitan Police Department, will attempt to rescue the hostages and "eliminate the monsters". Who is the monster's target? What is its purpose? And the blue demon, Yamato Koichi, will also start to move.
