A scene from the first episode of the new anime series "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube," a popular manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), titled "The 99-Foot Bug," has been released. It depicts Nube, also known as Meisuke Nueno Meisuke, a newly appointed teacher at Domori Elementary School, and students Tatsuno Hiroshi and Tamamo. The first episode will be broadcast on TV Asahi from 11:15 pm on July 2nd. The first episode will be a one-hour special.
Ahead of the broadcast, a creditless version of the opening (OP) video was released on YouTube. The video features the opening theme "P0WER - Banish evil spirits" by the band "-Shintenchi Kaibyaku Shudan- Zigzag," and depicts a scene in which the lively students of Domori Elementary School and the youkai lurking nearby appear, with the catchy phrase "Banish evil spirits!" This will be the first time a new anime version of "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube" has been produced in about 26 years since the OVA "Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube: The Greatest Battle in History! The Attack of the Demons!!," which was released in 1999. It is also a hot topic that Ryotaro Okiayu , who played the main character Nube in the TV anime, movie anime, and OVA that aired from 1996 to 1997, will continue to play the role. After the first hour-long special, it will be broadcast in TV Asahi's anime slot "IMAnimation W." It will be split into two seasons, with the second season starting in January 2026.
