Sakura Kiryu , an actress who gained popularity for her role in the TBS Sunday Theatre drama " Mikami Sensei " which aired from January to March, appeared at the "TikTok First Half of the Year Trend Awards 2025" awards ceremony held in Tokyo on June 24th.
The awards recognize popular content and keywords on TikTok. " Mikami Sensei" was the first terrestrial TV drama to stream a spin-off short drama on TikTok, and was recognized for "establishing a new style of drama viewing," winning the Entertainment category.
Yoshiyanagi, who played Shiiba Haruno, a student with a strong sense of responsibility and strict with others and herself, appeared in a dress that accentuated her beautiful bodyline and bright hair color, which is quite different from Shiiba's. She received the trophy from presenter Ano together with Yudai Toyoda, who played Miyazawa Ryo. Upon receiving the award, Yoshiyanagi said with a smile, "I feel that what I did was worthwhile, and I'm very happy."
This is the fifth time that the "TikTok First Half Trend Awards" have been held. The grand prize went to the popular anime "The Apothecary Diaries."
