"Bura Tamori" (NHK General TV, Saturday 7:30 pm) is a popular variety show in which the entertainer Tamori visits various towns. On June 21, the show will continue from last week and be set in Aoyama-dori, Tokyo, with famous Edo slopes appearing one after another, and Tamori will reveal his memories of his youth.
On this day, we will travel on a double-decker bus along Aoyama-dori, which connects Akasaka, Aoyama, Omotesando and Tokyo's top locations. We will depart Shibuya and go from Roppongi-dori to Aoyama-dori. We will compare the elevation difference between Roppongi-dori and Aoyama-dori, and enjoy some of Edo's most famous slopes, such as Sanbunzaka and Yagenzaka, which are Tamori's favorites.
We will also look into the surprising origins of the place name "Aoyama". A descendant of the Aoyama clan, a feudal lord who served Ieyasu, will appear. Tamori's origins lie in Omotesando, which connects to Aoyama Street... He will talk about his memories from his youth.
Tamori's travel partner will be NHK Hiroshima announcer Mana Sato, and the narration will be provided by singer-songwriter Aimyon.
