The 55th episode of the NHK morning drama " Anpan " starring Mio Imada(General Asadora , Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others) was broadcast on June 13th, and the disturbing final scene drew viewers' attention.
In the 55th episode, the Kokura Regiment is ordered to mobilize, and Takashi ( Takumi Kitamura) is sent to China. On the day before departure, while the squad members are drinking and having fun, Takashi tells Yagi (Satoshi Tsumabuki) who is looking at the stars alone, "It is thanks to my comrades that someone like me was able to continue in the military without giving up."
Yagi then muttered, "It's because of the poetry collection by Ibuse Masuji (which Takashi had in his possession)." When Takashi asked, "Do you like me too, comrade?" Yagi replied, "Yes. I sensed the same scent from that time. But don't get me wrong. I did what was expected of you as your comrade. That's all." Takashi handed Yagi a sketch of his profile as a token of his gratitude for all he had done.
After that, the Ogura regiment arrives in Fujian Province, China. Takashi is reunited with his childhood friend Iwao (Hamao Noritaka), who has been on a field mission for the past year. Meanwhile, Yagi visits Sergeant Kasuya's (Tanaka Shunsuke) room.
In the final scene, a stern-looking Kasuya appears in front of Takashi and glares at him, holding a portrait of Yagi, asking, "Did you draw this?" The narrator then says, "Corporal Yanai, what will become of you? Let's see," and the 55th episode comes to a close.
In an update on the same day, the official "Anpan" account (@asadora_nhk) hinted that "this picture will decide Taku's fate going forward," and on social media, people expressed concern, saying things like "Stop with such an ominous ending," "I wonder what impact this picture will have?", "I hope it goes in a good direction..." and "Can we assume that this is for a positive thing? Hey, is it okay?"
