80-year-old actor Haruko Wanibuchi will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) at 1:00 pm on June 11th. Her father is the famous violinist Kenshu Wanibuchi, and her mother is Austrian zither player Berta.
As a child, she became famous as a genius violinist, and later, as a child actor, she co-starred with legendary actress Setsuko Hara in the film "Non-chan Rides a Cloud" (1955).
After moving to Yamanashi, she had been away from music, but now she is playing the violin for the first time in 55 years and enjoying living alone. Her eldest daughter, Risa, is a soprano singer, and her two young grandchildren have just started singing. In April, she and her eldest daughter performed together for the first time on stage. She says she wants to continue playing music.
