On June 8th, TV talent Yumi Morio appeared with Naomi Matsui and Kiriko Isono at the public recording event for the program "Hayaku Okita Asa wa..." (Fuji TV TWO Drama/Anime) held at Theater 1010 in Kita-Senju, Tokyo. Morio, whose birthday was on the same day, was given a surprise celebration.
"Hayaku Okita Asa wa..." is a long-running talk variety show starring Matsui, Isono, and Morio. It has been running for over 30 years since its predecessor "Osoku Okita Asa wa..." began in 1994. Based on "grievances, dissatisfaction, and complaints" written on postcards sent in by viewers, Matsui, Isono, and Morio talk about the most interesting events and questions about the world at the moment, interspersed with "familiar episodes and behind-the-scenes stories that they can only talk about now" that they have experienced themselves. Since April, it has been broadcast on the CS channel "Fuji TV TWO Drama & Anime" from 6:30 am to 7:00 am on the second Sunday of every month.
On this day, not only did the three respond to postcards sent in by viewers, but they also directly responded to posts from participants in the public recording, livening up the venue.
At the end of the event, Morio was given a bouquet of flowers and the audience sang a birthday song to surprise him. Morio commented, "It's an honor beyond my imagination. Although the show is no longer broadcast on terrestrial TV, when we perform on stage, many people come to the venue, and I was very happy to have 'Hayaasa' fans celebrate my birthday." He continued, "The event is participatory and fun, so I hope many people will come again when it is held in the future."
When asked what new things he would like to start, Morio replied, "My appetite has been getting smaller lately, so I would like to try to find a way to eat healthy and delicious food."
The public recording is scheduled to be broadcast from 6:30 a.m. on July 13th.
