A special video of the movie "Beethoven Fabrication" (directed by Seki Kazuaki, to be released on September 12th), written by comedian Bakarhythm and starring actors Yuki Yamada and Furuta Arata, was recently released. Yamada said with a wry smile, "I guess the only pressure is how to make the script written by Bakarhythm as interesting as possible," as he talked about his thoughts on the film.
The film is based on Shiho Kagehara's historical non-fiction book "Beethoven Fabrication: A Famous Producer Lies" (Kawade Bunko). The story revolves around the scandal of Schindler, Beethoven's secretary and posthumous biography writer, who significantly altered the phrasebook used by Beethoven after he lost his hearing. Yamada plays Schindler, a faithful secretary who is driven by a sense of duty to protect his idol, Furuta, after his death, and struggles to turn him from a "vulgar, dirty old man (truth)" into a "sacred, genius musician (lie)."
In the special footage, Yamada comments, "A love for Beethoven is beginning to blossom," while Furuta puts pressure on the production team by saying, "The rest is up to the director's skill."
