The lineup for Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday 1pm), which will air from June 2nd to 6th, has been announced. On the 2nd, talent Dan Mitsu will appear, on the 3rd actor Watanabe Ikkei, on the 4th violinist Maebashi Teiko, on the 5th actor Miyoko Asada, and on the 6th comedy duo "Knights" Hanawa Nobuyuki and Tsuchiya Nobuyuki will appear.
Dan Mitsu is in a "positive, separate marriage" with manga artist Kiyoto Tohru, and is still in the marriage six years later. She was hospitalized twice in the year before last, spending about 40% of the year in hospitals. She was apparently in poor health after the death of her grandmother, who had raised her for many years.
Watanabe is 62 years old. He has been married for 32 years, and the couple is constantly at the mercy of their two beloved cats. He occasionally goes back to see his parents who live in Aichi, and his sister came over for New Year's, and they spent New Year's together as a family.
Maebashi studied abroad alone in the Soviet Union during the Cold War at the age of 17, and moved to Japan in his 40s. Last year, he injured his shoulder for the first time in his 60-plus years as a performer, and took a long break from performing. Apparently, his doctor was surprised when he said, "I want to play for another 10 years, until I'm 90."
Asada is 69 years old. Last year marked the 50th anniversary of her debut. Her mother developed leukemia at the age of 68 and passed away two years later at the age of 70. She says that it was her two beloved dogs that saved her when she was feeling down after the loss. She also talks about her memories of Nishida Toshiyuki and Kiki Kirin.
Apparently, Hanawa-san fell into a gutter in February and suffered a facial fracture. What caused the two to have trouble was that they were supposed to appear together on a show. Hanawa-san's older brother, comedian Hanawa-san, suddenly stepped in as a pinch hitter and played as his partner. The show was well-received and they were able to get away with it without incident.
