It has been decided that Disney's live-action film "Lilo & Stitch" (directed by Dean Fleischer-Camp, released on June 6th) will be screened in four premium large formats, including 4DX and Dolby Cinema. The poster visual for the premium large format version has also been released.
In addition to 2D (subtitled/dubbed), this film will be screened in a variety of environments, including "Dolby Cinema(R)" (subtitled/dubbed) and "Dolby Atmos(R)" (subtitled/dubbed), which allow you to enjoy three-dimensional, deep sound that matches the images, as well as "4DX(R)" (dubbed) and "MX4D(R)" (subtitled/dubbed), "immersive" theater systems where the audience seats move according to the scene and special effects such as wind and mist are created to stimulate the senses. The two premium large format posters released feature Stitch biting into the Dolby Cinema logo and 4DX logo with a smug look on his face, a visual that is full of "uniqueness". Stitch, also known as "Prototype 626", was created for the purpose of destruction, and is a violent alien who destroys everything he sees. The live-action version of Stitch, created by combining the latest digital technology with the skills of a master puppeteer, retains the familiar look and voice, but with his adorable fluffy fur, he feels like he's real and makes you want to touch him.
Producer Jonathan Eyrick analyzed, "I believe the reason the animated version of 'Lilo & Stitch' has been loved all over the world for so long and has become more popular over time is because this work was ahead of its time. With its original world view and visuals, the family story, and the way the bond between sisters Nani and Lilo deepens as they try to overcome difficulties, and the addition of Stitch to the mix, I think a 'classic film' that will continue to be loved across the ages was born."
He added, "I think Stitch is a character everyone can relate to. We have that desire inside us to want to jump out into the world, but also the part of us that gets into trouble with those around us when we do, and the desire to be our own confident and bold self. Stitch is not perfect, but I think he is the character whose imperfections are most enjoyable to portray. Furthermore, through the characters of Lilo and Nani, this film also depicts the feeling of loneliness and having no place in the world. This is a problem that is most urgent and real for us right now."
In addition, it has been decided that gifts will be distributed to visitors from the release date, June 6th. Each visitor will receive one special clear photo card that allows them to take an "Ohana" photo with Stitch dancing the hula. Distribution will end once all cards are depleted.
The film is a live-action adaptation of the Disney animated film of the same name produced in 2002. In the Japanese dubbed version, Stitch is played by voice actor Koichi Yamadera, Lilo is played by child actress Yuno Nagao, Nani is played by MOMONA from the 11-member girl group ME:I, the voice of the kind-hearted surfer David is played by Kaito Nakamura from the popular group Travis Japan, and the alien Preekly is played by voice actor Yuji Mitsuya.
