" Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu (1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will make you feel the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobody, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
In the ninth week, the Asada family is discussing Nobu's (Imada) wedding, and Kamaji (Kotaro Yoshida) and his friends are excited. At the same time, Takashi (Takumi Kitamura) is immersed in his graduation project, hoping to tell Nobu how he feels after finishing it.
Suddenly, Hiroshi (Yutaka Takenouchi) collapses and falls into a critical condition. After staying up all night painting, Taku returns to Gomenyocho, but Hiroshi has already passed away. Realizing that it was all too late, Taku returns to Tokyo without telling Nobu how he feels, and by chance meets his mother, Tomiko (Nanako Matsushima) in Ginza.
Soon, Asada Bakery receives an order for hardtack to be delivered to the military, but Kusakichi (Sadao Abe) refuses to bake it.
Ranko (Yuumi Kawai) shows sympathy for Kusakichi's feelings. Hatako (Noriko Eguchi) also refuses the request, saying she cannot force him to do it. However, the ingredients for making hardtack are later brought to the Asada family home, and the military police order them to make the hardtack immediately.
Kamaji and the others are confused. Then Kusakichi appears and obediently starts toasting the dry bread, but...
