The 19th episode, "A Souvenir of Scales," of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sundays at 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , was broadcast on May 18th. It depicted what happened to Ooya Ichibe (Ito Atsushi), who collapsed in the 17th episode two weeks ago and whose safety was a matter of concern.
" UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
In episode 19, Urokogataya (Kataoka Ainosuke), who has fallen into financial difficulties and decided to close his store, is discussing his future with Tsuruya (Shunsuke Kazama) and Nishimuraya (Nishimura Masahiko).
On the spot, it was decided that Harumachi Koikawa (Amane Okayama), a writer employed by Urokogataya, would write for Tsuruya from now on. Tsutaju (Yokohama) was planning a strategy to acquire Harumachi in order to counter the power of local book wholesalers in the city.
Meanwhile, in Edo Castle, Lady Chiho (Rin Takanashi Rin) causes a commotion when she tries to commit suicide by poison, and Okitsugu(Ken Watanabe) is investigating the circumstances... and so the story unfolds.
When the caption "Omonjiya Ichibei Ito Atsushi" appeared in the opening title sequence of the episode, viewers were relieved to see that he was alive and well, with comments on social media such as "It's Omonjiya!", "The Pumpkin Husband!" and "The Letter Man aka Train Man is back!" However, just two minutes later, he was gone, despite calls from Tagasode (played by Haruka Fukuhara) of "Oh sis! Please come back!" in vain.
At this point, viewers were once again surprised, saying "Whaaat, this happens after just a few seconds!!!" and "Whaaat, Pumpkin's husband died?!
