It has been revealed that Eiji Kotoge and Mizuki Nishimura of the comedy duo "Baikingu" will be guest voice actors in the latest film, "Crayon Shin-chan : The Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Hot! The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers," the 32nd film in the popular anime series "Crayon Shin-chan." The latest film is the first in the series' history to be set in India, and the two members of Baikingu will play local Indian characters. Kotoge will play the role of guide Uhun Ahaan, and Nishimura will play the role of a part-time worker at a general store.
The announcement was made on TV Asahi's information variety show "Learn Fun! World Video News" broadcast on May 15th. The show also showed footage of Kotoge and Nishimura recording, and the audience burst into laughter at the sight of the two's nervous expressions. Kotoge's unique line "Ufun Ahaan" drew particularly loud laughs.
Kotoge said, "Crayon Shin-chan itself is interesting, and I have seen the movies, so I was simply happy that our voices would be heard in the work. The character I play, Uhun Ahaan, is the local guide for Shin-chan and his friends when they come to India. I had almost no experience in acting or voice acting so it was more difficult than I imagined, but the director gave me detailed acting instructions and I was able to play the role to the fullest. Since this time the story is set in India, elements of Indian films are incorporated into the visuals, and there were many funny scenes that made even comedians like me laugh out loud and that provided a moment of relief even in serious situations. I thought that Shin-chan was amazing."
Nishimura commented, "Ever since my children were born, I've wanted to try being a voice actor for an anime that my children like, so when I received this offer I was incredibly happy. I play the role of a part-time worker at a general store that Shin-chan and Bo-chan visit in India. Before I appeared on TV, I was just a part-time worker, so I tried to focus on playing the role as a hired part-time worker. It was difficult to say that there were lines that weren't in the script, and even when the script said "...", I had to breathe on the microphone and deliver the lines in a way that I don't normally do. I think it's an entertaining work that's packed with various elements, like the friendship of the Kasukabe Defense Force and the family love of the Nohara family, so I hope you'll look forward to it!"
The latest work is a dance entertainment movie set in India, where Nohara Shinnosuke and the Kasukabe Defense Force dance and dance. The film is directed by Masakazu Hashimoto, who has worked on the Crayon Shin-chan-chan series such as "Honeymoon Hurricane: The Lost Hiroshi" and "Mononoke Ninja Chinpuden," and written by Kimiko Ueno, who has worked with Hashimoto on a number of Crayon Crayon Shin-chan films. It is due to be released on August 8. It will also be released in theaters in India in late October.
