Iruka, a 74-year-old singer, will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday 1:00 pm), which will be broadcast from 1:00 pm on May 8th. Iruka currently lives with her father, a saxophone player, her son and his wife, and four grandchildren. She will talk about her lifestyle.
Her husband, Kazuo Kanbe, who passed away in 2007, had been working with her on music since their university days, and after Iruka made her solo debut, he supported her life as a singer as a producer. Her husband was of the opinion that "artists should not be involved with money," and from the beginning of their marriage, they had an allowance system. Later, when her husband was hospitalized for a long time due to illness, her father took over the accounting, and Iruka did not understand much about the household finances until her father was hospitalized at the age of 90, and she says that she first went to the bank when she was about 70 years old.
His mother passed away three and a half years ago at the age of 95. When his parents were hospitalized in separate hospitals due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he was worried that they would never see each other again, but their conditions improved. His mother was able to return home and he was able to spend some final time alone with his father.
