The 22nd episode of the NHK morning drama " Anpan " starring Mio Imada(General Asadora , Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others) was broadcast on April 29th. The scene in which Kuroi ( Kumi Takiuchi), a teacher at a women's normal school, utters harsh words to Nobu (Imada) and Usako (Sara Shida), drew a variety of reactions from viewers.
In episode 22, Nobu was washing the laundry of her seniors at the Women's Normal School while encouraging Usako, who was crying and whining, "I don't want to do this anymore. I want to go home." Then their homeroom teacher Kuroi appeared and asked in a stern tone, "Are you two homesick yet?"
Kuroi tells Nobu, "Do you know why you passed?" and "Because your gymnastics scores were extremely high compared to the other applicants. That's all you're worth." He then gives Usako some harsh words, saying, "Stop whining! You're too weak. You're weaker than the mosquito larvae in Kagami River. Get stronger for your country," and leaves the place.
Kuroi's comment became a hot topic, and "mosquito larvae" briefly trended on X. On social media, comments included, "That was a powerful word from the morning," "Teacher, would you say something like that?", "It would be considered power harassment now," "Maybe it's the flip side of expectations," "I'm worried that Usako's heart will break," and "Kuroi-sensei, if you make eye contact with him, you'll turn to stone. Awesome."
