The 17th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Anpan " (General TV, Monday to Saturday at 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada , was broadcast on April 22nd, and featured a scene in which Takashi Yanai(Takumi Kitamura) and his younger brother Chihiro (Motoki Nakazawa) get into a physical fight, which elicited a reaction from viewers.
In the previous episode 16, Takashi overhears a conversation between his uncle Hiroshi (Yutaka Takenouchi) and Chihiro. When Chihiro says that she wants to become a lawyer instead of a doctor, Hiroshi asks, "Maybe you gave up on becoming a doctor because of Takashi? If Takashi becomes the successor, he will be treated well as the eldest son in this family. That's what you thought, isn't it?"
In episode 17, when Nobu (Imada) comes to the Yanai house to study, he can't find Taka. While walking along the railroad tracks, Taka remembers the conversation he heard last night. He then talks to "Yam-on-chan" Kusakichi (Sadao Abe) about his childhood memories with Chihiro. At the same time, Nobu, who was waiting for Taka in his room, hears Chihiro's feelings for Taka.
After Nobu leaves, Takashi comes home. When Chihiro asks him where he's been, Takashi replies with a self-deprecating remark that "You'll study better if I'm not around," and the two end up getting into a big fight.
Chihiro retorts, "Why does my brother do what his mother tells him to do?" and then tells her mother, Tomiko (Nanako Matsushima), "You thought she'd abandoned him a long time ago, but then she suddenly comes back and acts like a mother. All she wants is to make her son a doctor and make a place for herself! She's just using you, brother! You should know that, too!"
Taku is so angry that he hits Chihiro without thinking. He then shouts, "Ever since you were brought here, you've always been watching your uncle and aunt's moods and become an honor student. You've done well! Even as brothers, you're like the moon and the turtle. In your heart, you're probably wishing that your big brother would disappear!" Nobu comes running and slaps Taku, expressing his anger by saying, "Who do you think has been closest to you and has been watching you all this time? You're like a cheap turtle!"
In the midst of a fight between the siblings, Chihiro makes it clear that she distrusts Tomiko, and comments were made on social media such as, "Good job, Chihiro," "It's so heartwarming that Chihiro says everything she wanted to say to her mother," "I'm really glad that Chihiro criticized Tomiko so harshly," and "Chihiro is absolutely right."
