A digitally remastered version of "Trick vs. Magic (Part 1)," from the popular TV anime " Detective Conan " (Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV network), based on Gosho Aoyama 's manga, aired on May 16th at 6pm, paying tribute to Wakana Yamazaki, the voice actress for Ran Mouri, who passed away on April 18th at the age of 61.
At the beginning of the anime, a caption appeared stating, "We are deeply saddened to announce that Wakana Yamazaki, the voice actress for Ran Mouri, recently passed away. We offer our heartfelt condolences."
In addition to voicing Ran Mouri in " Detective Conan," Yamazaki was also active in a wide range of other fields, including playing Akko (3rd generation) in "Himitsu no Akko-chan," and providing narration for "Sunday Japon" (TBS) and "Tokudane!" (Fuji TV).
On February 16th of this year, Yamazaki announced on the official "Detective Conan" website that she would be taking a break from her activities due to poor health. In the "Detective Conan" TV anime series, Akemi Okamura took over Yamazaki's role from the episode aired on March 14th. Yamazaki's recording for the latest theatrical film, "Detective Conan: Fallen Angel on the Highway," which was released on April 10th, had already been completed, and she appeared as planned.
