An announcement event for a collaboration project to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the izakaya chain Torikizoku was held in Tokyo on April 21st.
To commemorate Torikizoku's 40th anniversary on May 1, 2025, the chain will be collaborating with popular group "SUPER EIGHT" member Okura Tadayoshi on a project. Tadayoshi is the eldest son of Okura Tadashi, founder of Torikizoku and CEO of Eternal Hospitality Group Co., Ltd., and will be turning 40 this year, just like Torikizoku.
In addition to offering limited-edition menus supervised by Tadayoshi-san and giving away commemorative novelty goods, Torikizoku's first store, "Shuntoku Store," will be reopened for a limited time, and many other projects will be developed. In addition, a special 40th anniversary conversation video between Tadayoshi-san and Tadashi-san, "The Past" and "The Future," will be distributed on the Torikizoku official app from the same day.
The limited-edition menu supervised by Tadayoshi includes "Kushi Nugget Green," eight chicken breast nugget skewers topped with seaweed salt, and "Niratama Green," a chicken breast skewer grilled in sauce topped with plenty of chives and soft-boiled eggs. The "green" is inspired by the member color of Tadayoshi's group, and the dishes are presented in a colorful way.
At the presentation, both Tadayoshi and Tadashi appeared together. This was the first time that the father and son performed together in public. Tadashi, who tried both menu items, said happily, "I love chive and egg, so I guess they thought of that," while he confessed about the "Green Kushi Nuggets," saying, "There are eight of them, in honor of SUPER EIGHT. I guess the more they sell, the more they lose money because they sell so many of them. I wanted them to stop, but they pushed through." He joked that, "For the first time, I felt hatred" after the fact that all menu items will be priced at a flat rate of 390 yen including tax from May 1st.
The "Skewer Nugget Green" and "Niratama Green" will be available in limited quantities from May 1st. Only 1 million servings of each will be sold, for a total of 2 million servings.
