It has been revealed that the final performance of singer and actor Ito Ran's nationwide tour, which began in January at Tokyo Garden Theater (Koto Ward, Tokyo), will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW from 7:30 pm on April 13th. Prior to this, WOWOW released a live report of the performance.
Ran Ito, a member of the three-member female idol group "Candies," which was all the rage in the 1970s, debuted as a solo singer in 2019. She embarked on the "Ran Ito ~Over the Moon~ Concert Tour 2024-2025" tour, which began on August 25 last year and visited nine locations across the country. Approximately 5,500 fans packed the venue for the final performance at Tokyo Garden Theater on January 25.
Ito appeared on stage wearing a black leather jacket and sang "ICE ON FIRE", and the second song was her first solo single "Koi Suru Revolver". The audience responded to the fast-paced concert staple by waving bright red penlights.
As the crowd erupted in cheers of "Ran-chan," the band moved on to a Candies number. They performed two of their big hit singles, "Un Deux Trois" and "Yasashii Akuma," in modern rearrangements, and "Ginga Kei Made Tote Ike!" in its original version. Both songs were written by Takuro Yoshida.
On stage, Ito-san changed from her black costume to a glittering off-shoulder one-piece dress with silver glitter, and performed songs from her third album "LEVEL9.9" such as "FUNK Fushi no Musuko" and "Ashita wa Motto Ii Hi" one after another. The highlight was her latest single "Kaze ni Notte ~ Over the Moon". "Over the Moon" is a song with the concept of "so much fun it will surpass the moon", which is also the title of her first essay.
The second half of the concert started with the cheer song "SUPER CANDIES" performed by the band members, and consisted entirely of Candies numbers. Ito, who had changed into a red fringe dress in Ran-chan's color, performed a series of numbers that she once sang and danced to with Miki (Fujimura Miki) and Sue (Tanaka Yoshiko) along with the two chorus members. After singing "Abundant Saturday" and "Don't Make Me Feel Good," she surprised the audience by singing "Wana," in which Miki was the center. Other hits followed, including "The Ace of Hearts Doesn't Come Out," "Younger Boy," "Summer Greetings," and "Spring First."
The biggest surprise of the day was the encore stage. Ito's daughter, actress Shuri, appeared and performed "Shopping Shuri," a song sung by Fukurai Suzuko, the heroine of the NHK morning drama "Boogie Woogie," in which she played herself. At the end, Ito and Shuri held hands and performed a duet of "Haru ni Nattara" to end the concert.
The final performance of "Ito Ran ~Over the Moon~ Concert Tour 2024-2025" will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand from 7:30 pm on April 13th.
