A special edition of the popular manga "Kodocha (Kodomo no Omocha)" by Miho Obana, which was serialized in the girls' manga magazine "Ribon" (Shueisha) from 1994 to 1998, has been released on the official Twitter account of "Hot Pepper Beauty". The popular masterpiece from the 1990s has been "revived" in the Reiwa era.
As part of the PR for "Hot Pepper Beauty," the main characters Sana Kurata and Akito Hayama, who have grown into high school students, appear in the story, which depicts them reserving a salon appointment using "Hot Pepper Beauty."
"Kodocha" centers on the interactions between Kurata Sana, a sixth-grader working as a child actor, and her classmate Hayama Akito, the most problematic child in their class. While it contains comedic elements, it also contains serious elements such as classroom breakdown, which was a social issue at the time, and became a hot topic. It was made into a TV anime in 1996, and a stage play in 2015 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of "Ribon."
