The final episode of the romance drama series "Kimi wa Mendou na Konyakusha," produced by TV Asahi and the video streaming service TELASA, began streaming on TELASA on March 31st.
The drama stars Natsuki Hori of the dance and vocal group "FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE" and actor Momoko Tanabe. The live-action adaptation of the popular novel and manga (Hakusensha) by Shiino Midori and Usayama Monaka depicts the frustrating office love (=Modokyun love) of a couple who are constantly at odds with each other: high-spec elite employee Tachibana Hajime (Hori) and the daughter of a company president, Kajiya Shino (Tanabe). All six episodes of the series, titled "Diamond Edition," are being streamed sequentially on TELASA, and it was ranked first in the drama category for the number of TELASA subscribers acquired in March 2025 (as of March 25).
The story so far is... Just as he had decided to propose to her, Shino (Tanabe) broke off their engagement. Tachibana (Hori) was shocked by the suddenness of the situation and passed out drunk. As he gazed upon the sleeping Tachibana, Shino recalled the events that had happened three years before they were engaged.
As the two spend more time alone together in the document room, Shino's feelings for Tachibana grow stronger. Although she knows she shouldn't, she uses her position as the daughter of a company president to ask her father, Motoharu (Okouchi Hiroshi), to get engaged to Tachibana. Shino is troubled by the fact that she forced the engagement and tied Tachibana down, and no matter how kind Tachibana is to her, she cannot accept it as "love"... Without knowing each other's true feelings, they end up breaking off their engagement without ever meeting each other's expectations.
In the final episode, Shino decides to break off her engagement and tells her father Motoharu and mother Sumire (Michiko Hada) that she wants to break off the engagement. She also tells Tachibana, who wants to talk to her again, that "we can't get married if we don't have feelings for each other." Around that time, Tachibana is also approached by Motoharu about being transferred overseas.
Before long, rumors begin to spread within Kajiya Foods that Tachibana and Yui (Oto Abe) are getting married... When Yui provokes Shino by saying, "Thank you for breaking up with Tachibana," Shino can't sit still any longer when she hears that Tachibana might be forced to quit the company... And so the story unfolds.
Yui, who Shino says is the "heroine position," is also a love rival and a key person who plays a major role in the final episode. Will Shino be able to hear Tachibana's true feelings? How will this frustrating, heart-pounding love between the two end?
Before the final episode was released, footage of Hori and Tanabe wrapping up filming was released. Hori commented, "I'm not that kind of character normally, so I wondered if I could handle the role of a good-looking guy who's good at what he does, but the staff made me shine, and I'm really grateful," and added, "It was a good experience that I can use in my future activities."
Tanabe reflected, "Every day was so intense that it felt like we did one full season," and added, "I owe it all to the staff here that we were able to get this far. I'm happy to have been able to work with everyone who loves the series." He seemed overwhelmed with emotion.
