The variety show "Ogiyahagi's Car History NO CAR, NO LIFE!" (BS Nippon Television), hosted by the comedy duo Ogiyahagi, will be broadcast from 9:00 pm on March 15th.
In this episode, we visit the Showa no Mori Museum in Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture. This complex museum is based on the Showa era and is filled with Showa era items collected from all over the country by the founder and former director.
The museum's main focus is on cars, with many of the rare vehicles collected by the museum's staff running around searching for them, many of which can only be seen here. Among the vehicles on display is one that appeared in the film series "Always: Sunset on Third Street."
The show progresses from beginner to intermediate to advanced according to the rarity of the car. In the intermediate edition, a German four-door car that was the first in the world to be equipped with a rotary engine about 60 years ago appears. Ogiyahagi is quick to complain about its rarity. In addition, a car that has been used in an extremely special environment, different from passenger cars, also appears, and Yahagi Ken worries, "Aren't there some viewers who can't keep up with this any more?"
The top-of-the-line edition features a truly mythical car that was manufactured by a popular Italian manufacturer, but was the only one of its kind in the world and was never sold commercially.
Ken Yahagi wondered, "Isn't it strange that it exists in Japan? It doesn't exist in Italy," but was excited to see a machine with cutting-edge gimmicks that are unthinkable in modern cars, asking, "Does a car like that exist?" He even went so far as to say, "Today's car designers and those who have never seen one should come and see it for reference," and this unique car was unveiled.
