It has been announced that " Call of the Night Season 2", the sequel to the TV anime " Call of the Night " based on Kotoyama's popular manga, will be broadcast on Fuji TV's nationwide anime slot "Noitamina" every Friday at 11:30 pm starting in July. Noitamina has been broadcast late at night for many years, but in April this year it was announced that it would be moving to a nationwide Friday slot at 11:30 pm, and this work will be the second work to be broadcast in the new Noitamina. The first work is the TV anime " Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de", based on Higashikawa Atsuya's popular mystery novel, which will begin airing on April 4th.
The key visual featuring the characters, including the school-refusing Yamori Kou, the vampire Nazuna Nanakusa, and the detective Uguisu Anko, was released. In Season 2, a new night will begin, not just a fun "night out."
It was also announced that Rina Sato will be appearing as a new character in the cast. She will play Hoshimi Kiku, a bewitching woman who is in love with Kou's friend Mahiru. Sato commented on the appeal of the work, saying, "Staying up all night. When we're little, it's like some kind of secret adventure, and when we become aware of things, we feel like we're all alone in the world, and when we become adults, we think, "Do your best, who you are the next day! Nice to meet you!" (laughs) It's also a time of immorality. Set in the night, a time that everyone has stepped into at least once, the story is full of witty exchanges between the characters, including Nazuna-chan and Kou-kun, vampires, mysteries, and love stories! Regarding Kiku, he said, "Kiku has a fragility that seems like she'll disappear when morning comes, a mischievous adult sexiness, lonely eyes, and a girl's honest cuteness...Kiku seems fluctuating and elusive. I kept reading the original work, hoping to get to her core. If I were her, I might not be able to follow the same path. But I understand how you feel. It makes me want to cry. I am approaching the recording with the story ahead in my heart."
In preparation for the broadcast of Season 2, the previous series "Season 1" will be rebroadcast from April. It will be broadcast on Fuji TV every Friday at 1:45 a.m. from April 11th, on Hokkaido Cultural Broadcasting every Tuesday at 12:40 a.m. from April 22nd, and on Kochi Sun Sun TV every Thursday at 12:45 a.m. from April 24th.
"Call of the Night" is a manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) from August 2019 to January 2024. The story is about Kou Yamori, a second-year middle school student who suffers from insomnia, who meets the beautiful vampire Nazuna Saegusa and becomes fascinated by her, who teaches him the joys of the night.
The first season of the TV anime aired on Noitamina from July to September 2022.
