It has been announced that the TV anime "Fermat no Ryori", based on the latest work by Yugo Kobayashi, known for the soccer manga "Aoashi", will be broadcast on TV Asahi's anime slot "IMAnimation" every Saturday at 11:30 pm starting in July. A teaser PV has been released on YouTube, depicting Gaku Kitada, who struggles to create a recipe using mathematical thinking, and charismatic chef Asakura Kai, challenging God with cooking. A teaser visual depicting Gaku and Kai was also released with the tagline "Mathematics makes cooking exciting!".
"Fermat no Ryori" is a manga that has been serialized in "Monthly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) since September 2018. The story is about a genius mathematician, Gaku Kitada, who gave up his dream of becoming a mathematician, and the mysterious culinary charismatic Asakura Kai, who challenges the truth of the culinary world crowded with talent. A drama series starring actors Takahashi Fumiya and Jun Shison was broadcast on TBS from October to December 2023, which also became a hot topic.
In the anime, voice actors Ryosuke Tomita and Taito Ban will play the roles of Gaku Kitada and Kai Asakura, respectively.
