The second stage greeting to commemorate the huge success of the theatrical advance version of the latest work in the popular anime series "Gundam", "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-", was held on March 8th at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). Kawada Shinji, who plays Sharia Bull, appeared. Sharia Bull, who is also familiar from "Mobile Suit Gundam", the first work in the "Gundam" series that aired from 1979 to 1980, is popular on social media, where he is called "the green old man". When asked about his favorite scenes, Kawada said, "The scene where the two (Char Aznable and Sharia Bull) use their Mav tactics is cool! I get excited every time."
Also appearing on stage to greet the audience were Shimba Tsuchiya, who plays Shuuji Ito, Seiichiro Yamashita, who plays Exabe Olive, Akane Fujita, who plays Komori Harcourt, and Yuki Arata, who plays Char Aznable. When asked about his favorite scene, Arata, who plays Char, said with a smile, "I like the scene where he sips wine. So grown-up!"
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is also attracting attention as it is the first collaboration between Sunrise, which produces the Gundam series, and khara, known for the Evangelion series. Ahead of the broadcast of the TV anime series, a pre-release theatrical version, which reconstructed some episodes, began screening on January 17th. The TV anime series will be broadcast on 30 Nippon Television affiliated stations every Tuesday at 12:29am from April 8th.
