It has been announced that Toya's popular novel "A Tale of the Secret Saint," which was born from the novel posting site "Shosetsuka ni Naro's Become a Novelist," will be made into a TV anime. The main cast has also been announced, with Shion Wakayama as Fear Rude, Shinnosuke Tokudome as Xaviria, Yuichiro Umehara as Savith Nerve, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Cyril Sutherland.
The story is about a young girl named Fear who aspires to be a knight despite being told she has no talent for the sword, but then remembers her past life as a great saint with extraordinary cheat abilities. It also attracted attention when it ranked second in the book/novels category for two consecutive years in 2024 and 2025 in the magazine "This Light Novel is Amazing!" (Takarajimasha). The light novel is published by Earth Star Novel (Earth Star), and the comic adaptation is also gaining popularity. The series has sold over 3.4 million copies in total.
Wakayama, who plays the role of Fear, commented, "In the story, Fear tends to attract attention at first because of her eccentricity, but I think everyone then becomes attracted to her inner self and becomes interested in her. I will do my best to portray the charming, lovely and cute Fear as if she were life-sized!"
Original author Toya said, "Daisho is being made into an anime! I owe it all to the readers who have continued to read this work. I also owe it all to the support of chibi, Aobe, Umino, and the publishers. Thank you very much. I too am looking forward to the day when I can see the Fiers moving and talking. I feel great to be able to share this wonderful news with everyone. I hope you will continue to support us!!!"
