The key visual for season 2 of NHK's BS period drama "UNBOUND (Berabou) and Silver 2," starring popular actor Fuka Koshiba, who takes on the role of a legendary courtesan in the NHK Taiga drama "Berabou ~ Tsutae Eika no Yume Banashi ~" (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), was released on March 2nd.
"Akinai Seiden: Gold and Silver" is set in the mid-Edo period and depicts the common people who work hard and use their ingenuity to succeed in business, while incorporating a variety of customs. In season 1, which aired in 2023, the main character Sachi (Koshiba) marries Tomozo (Matsumoto Reo), the sixth-generation owner of Gosuzuya, and begins selling "Hamahabutae" from New Year's as a desperate plan to revive the struggling Gosuzuya.
Season 2 is the Edo Edition. It begins immediately after Season 1, and Masumi-ya (Yamanishi Jun) appears, accusing Hama Habutae of being a huge success, saying that "my clerk embezzled the money." Sachi and Chizo expand the store and achieve the dream of the previous Gosuzu-ya owner to open a store in Edo, but Sachi is hit by a series of sad events...
The cast for the "Edo Edition" has also been announced, with Kazama Morio playing the kabuki actor Kikuse Eijiro, Takashima Masanobu playing the money exchanger Masugoya Chubei, Kataoka Sennosuke playing the kabuki star Nakamura Tomigorō, Asari Yosuke playing the joiner Wasaburo, and Murata Takehiro playing the manager of the Omiya Edo branch, Shohachi.
Ko Shibasaki commented, "The atmosphere changed completely when we moved to the Edo area. Sachi meets stylish, kind-hearted people, and her business gains even more momentum. The actors are really wonderful, and I'm really glad she opened a shop in Edo. With the addition of new members, things have gotten even more momentum. Also, what is Souji (played by Kato Shigeaki), whom she meets again in Edo, thinking and feeling? We don't know whether he is a threat to Gosuzu-ya or an ally. There are both joys and sadness, but please keep an eye on Sachi and Gosuzu-ya in season 2."
The drama will consist of eight episodes and will be broadcast on NHK BS and BS Premium 4K every Sunday from 6:45 pm starting from April 6th.
