It has been announced that Nana Mizuki and Katsuyuki Konishi will be appearing as voice actors in the TV anime "Witch Watch," based on the popular manga by Kenta Shinohara, which is currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). Mizuki will play Ibuki Wakatsuki, the witch and mother of Nico Wakatsuki, while Konishi will play Reiji Otogi, the father of Morihito Otogi, a descendant of demons.
It was also announced that an advance screening will be held on March 30th at Shinjuku Ryota Suzuki(Shinjuku, Tokyo), with Kohei Amasaki Rina (Nico), Suzuki Ryota (Morihito), Amakasaki Kaito Ishikawa(Kanshi), Ishikawa Kaito (Magami Keigo), and Kusunoki Tomori (Nemu) in attendance. In addition to episodes 1 and 2, a selection of episodes (Cat Scout, Kannico Channel, Kanshi's Part-time Job Diary - Homework) will be screened.
"Witch Watch" is a comedy manga by Shinohara, who is also known for "SKET DANCE" and "Astra Lost in Space." It began serialization in February 2021 in "Weekly Shonen Jump." It depicts the cohabitation life of Wakatsuki Nico, who is training to become a witch, and her childhood friend, Otogi Morihito, a high school student with the powers of a demon. Morihito is given the mission of being a familiar to protect Nico from a prophesied disaster, and so begins a mysterious and difficult life.
The anime will be directed by Hiroshi Ikehata, known for "Kiratto Pri☆Chan," and produced by Vibrant Animation Studio, known for "The Quintessential Quintuplets ∫∫." It will be broadcast on the MBS/TBS Sunday 5pm anime slot starting April 6th. It will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons.
