It has been revealed that Wataru Ichinose will play the role of the husband of the lead character played by actress Mikako Tabe in the drama series "Taigan no Kaji ~Kore ga, Watashi no Ikiru Michi~" (TBS, Tuesdays at 10pm), which will start in April.
This is a new "work drama" that depicts the never-ending task of "housework" through Shiho's interactions with "people on the other side of the river" who have different positions and ways of thinking than her. The original work is the novel "Taigan no Kaji" (Housework on the Other Side) by Akeno Kayoko (Kodansha Bunko).
Shiho's husband, Toraaki Murakami (played by Ichinose), is a kind-hearted man who leads a busy life as the manager of an izakaya restaurant, but who also pours out his love for his family. Despite his intimidating appearance, he dotes on their 2-year-old daughter, Ichigo Murakami, and supports his wife, Shiho, who is a full-time housewife.
This will be Ichinose's first time playing a father, who gained attention for playing the lead role of a sumo wrestler in the Netflix drama "Sanctuary" (2023). This will be his first regular role in a primetime TBS drama series.
It was also revealed that the only daughter, Ichigo Murakami, will be played by child actress Kana Nagai. In the NHK Taiga drama "To Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)" (2024), she played Murasaki Shikibu and Fujiwara no Michinaga's daughter, Fujiwara no Kenko, and drew attention for being "too cute."

This was my first time acting with Mikako Tabe, but she is a really nice person who is considerate of everyone. It was also my first time playing a father role, but the daughter role, Hana-chan, was so cute and she called me "Dad" even when we weren't filming.
The highlight of the show is how cute Tabe Mikako and Hana-chan are! They are my proud wives and daughters! I get the strength to live from these two! Housework is really hard, and I'm sure housewives will be able to sympathize with a lot of things, and even husbands who are busy with work will be able to learn a lot from seeing a side of housewives that they don't usually see!
