The 12th Annual Japan Uniform Awards, a contest sponsored by uniform brand "CONOMi" to determine "the man and woman who look best in uniform in Japan," was held in Tokyo on February 16th. From among approximately 3,000 applicants, the grand prize winners were Maika Miura, a second-year high school student from Hyogo Prefecture, and Haruto Imai, a first-year high school student from Tokyo.
A fashion show was also held, and Miura commented, "It was my first time to walk down the runway as a model, so I was nervous, but I practiced at home many times, and I think I was able to convey the charm of the uniform in my own way." Imai, who is also active as a popular YouTuber, reflected, "I was able to talk about my strengths, YouTube, and I was able to finish the judging process in a fun way."
The two grand prize winners will be named CONOMi's image models for 2025 as "the men and women who look best in uniforms in Japan right now," and will appear as models in catalogs distributed nationwide and in official shops.
The men's runner-up was Kawakami Rito, a second-year junior high school student from Tokyo, and the women's runner-up was Hiramatsu Sonoko, a third-year high school student from Okayama Prefecture.
