The seventh episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama, "The Arrival of a Good Opportunity: Flowers of the Fence" will be broadcast on February 16th. Popular voice actor Tomokazu Seki will appear in the role of Okumuraya Genroku from this episode. A photo of him in costume has also been released.
Okumuraya is one of the "jihon wholesalers alongside Tsuruya (Kazama Shunsuke) and Nishimuraya (Nishimura Masahiko)."
This will be Seki's second time appearing in a taiga drama, following "The 13 Lords of the Shogun" (2022). "I'm still feeling nervous," he said, "but I have some encouraging co-stars in my local branch, including Matsuda (Yoji), Takagi (Wataru), and Nakai (Kazuya). With their help, I will do my best to play the role of Okumuraya. I grew up in a downtown area myself, so I will do my best with the spirit of an Edokko!"
"UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
