It has been revealed that the total number of views on TVer from the first episode (broadcast on January 12th) to the fourth episode (broadcast on February 2nd) of the drama series "The Hot Spot" (Nippon TV, Sunday 10:30pm), written by Bakarhythm and starring actress Ichikawa Mikako, has exceeded 10 million (according to Video Research).
"The Hot Spot" is a local alien human comedy that begins when the main character, Kiyomi Endo (Ichikawa), a 41-year-old single mother who works at a business hotel in a town at the foot of Mount Fuji, encounters an alien by chance one day. Currently, all episodes up to episode 4 are available for free on TVer.
In the next episode, episode 5 (broadcast on February 9th), director Kishimoto (Sosuke Ikematsu) of the popular variety show "Monday Late Night" and his junior colleague Matsuzaki (Oshiro Maeda) visit Kiyomi's hometown. It seems that they are trying to find out something from the locals at the foot of Mount Fuji... and so begins the turbulent second chapter.
