It has been revealed that model and actress Hiroe Igeta will be appearing in the NHK drama series "Watashitte Saba Saba Shiteru Kara 2," starring Rei Maruyama.
This work is a sequel to "I'm a straightforward person" which was broadcast in 2023. As always, Nami Amihama (Maruyama), whose catchphrase is "I'm a straightforward person," depicts her struggle in a new environment. This time, the "High School Teacher Edition" will feature her working as a teacher at the prestigious school, Hoshikai High School, and the "Marriage Hunting Edition" will feature her diving into the world of marriage hunting.
Igeta plays Himeno Mari, an English teacher at Hoshikai High School. She is a young, passionate teacher who strives to achieve her ideal of "being close to the students' future, rather than increasing the number of students who are accepted into famous universities." Igeta commented, "I'm happy to be able to participate in this production and to see Amihama-san in person! There were many scenes where I couldn't stop laughing, so it was difficult as Himeno."
Also appearing in the "High School Teacher Edition" are Takaoka Saki as vice principal Kaibara Takako, Suruga Taro as head of the grade Kaido Morio, and Sugimoto Tetta as principal Hashimoto Tetsuo. Hayashi Meari and Kokoro Terada will appear as students. In the "Marriage Hunting Edition", Asano Yuko will play the charismatic matchmaking concierge Toudou Yuriko, Ozawa Maju as matchmaking party participant Hazuki Rina, and Kataoka Nobukazu as Kamiya Sosuke.
"I'm Straightforward 2" will be broadcast on NHK BS Premium 4K every Wednesday at 12:15 a.m. starting February 5th (20 episodes total). It is also scheduled to be broadcast on NHK General TV this spring.
