The drama series " Who saw the peacock dance in the jungle? " (TBS, Friday 10pm) starring Suzu Hirose will begin on January 24th. Based on the manga of the same name by Asami Rito, the drama is a suspense story in which the "love and destiny" of a parent and child caught up in a false accusation case intertwines.
Hirose plays Komugi Yamashita, a daughter whose father, a former police officer, was killed on Christmas Eve night. Using a letter left by her father as a clue, she approaches the truth behind two incidents, one past and one present. This is Hirose's first lead role in a full-scale suspense drama, despite being an actor for 12 years.
Matsuyama Kenichi will play the lawyer Matsukaze Yoshiteru, Lily Franky will play Kokoro Mugi's father Yamashita Haruo, and Isomura Hayato will play Weekly Jidai reporter Kamii Takashi.
The first episode is... It's Christmas Eve, and the town is filled with couples and families. University student Kokoro Mugi is sitting with his father, Haruo, at a familiar ramen stand. The family is just the two of them. "Thank you for coming with me even though it's Christmas Eve," says Haruo with a happy look on his face, and Kokoro Mugi savors his modest happiness.
However, that night, after parting ways with Haruo and returning home from a club drinking party, what awaited Kokoromugi was his house burning in flames and the news of Haruo's death.
Kokoro Mugi is stunned and at a loss after losing his beloved father. The culprit who killed Haruo is quickly arrested. It turns out to be Tomoya ( Yoshi Sakou), the son of Endo Rikiro (Sako Yoshi), the perpetrator of the brutal murder of a wealthy family whom Haruo had arrested 22 years ago.
Kokoro Mugi, who had never heard that Haruo was in charge of such a case, went to the ramen stand without realizing the sudden turn of events. He received a letter left by Haruo from the owner, Someda (Sakai Toshiya). Written in the letter were the names of several people, including Tomoya, and a statement that if any of them were suspected, it would be a "false accusation"...
