It has been announced that an original story, "The Rose of Versailles Mini!", will be screened as a special bonus video for moviegoers of the new animated feature film "The The Rose of Versailles of Riyoko Ikeda " (directed by Ai Yoshimura, to be released on January 31st), based on the masterpiece manga by Tomoko Konparu, Oscar, Marie Antoinette, Andre, Fersen and others visit a modern movie theater and engage in a slapstick comedy. Alain, Jelodel and Maron Glacé also make an appearance. The "Oscar Edition", "Marie Antoinette Edition", "Andre Edition" and "Fersen Edition" will be screened on a weekly basis.
A music video featuring Marie Antoinette, "Beautiful Antoinette PV," has been released on YouTube. The video begins with the scene where 14-year-old Marie Antoinette , who came to France from neighboring Austria, meets her future husband, Louis XVI, and depicts Antoinette's dignified life, full of pride and unwavering confidence.
It was also announced that the world's earliest screening of the film will be held at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on January 30, the day before the film's release. In addition to voice actors Miyuki Sawashiro as Oscar , Aya Hirano as Marie Antoinette , Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Andre, and Kazuki Kato as Fersen, special guest Ayakaze Sakina, former top star of the Snow Troupe who played Fersen in the Takarazuka Revue's "The Rose of Versailles- Fersen Edition" and retired from the company in Sakina Ayakaze last year, will be appearing on stage.
The cover illustration for the CD "Song Collection from The Rose of Versailles & Original Soundtrack," which includes songs from the anime movie, has also been released. It features a specially drawn design of Oscar and Marie Antoinette.
"The Rose of Versailles" is a masterpiece manga by Ikeda that was serialized in "Weekly Margaret" (Shueisha) from 1972 to 1973. It is a beautiful depiction of the love and life of Oscar, a beautiful Oscar who dresses as a man, and Marie Antoinette, an innocent queen who came to France from neighboring Austria during the French Revolution in the late 18th century.
The movie will be directed by Yoshimura, known for "Ao Haru Ride" and "Cheer Boys!! ". Hiroyuki Sawano , known for " Attack on Titan ", will be the music producer, and Sawano and KOHTA YAMAMOTO will be in charge of the music. It will be produced by MAPPA, known for " Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Chainsaw Man".
