It has been announced that the new partners of the Nippon Television news program "news zero" (Monday to Thursday 11:00 p.m., Friday 11:30 p.m.) from January 2025 will be actor Wakana Aoi, Kashiyuka from the female techno pop trio "Perfume," and comedian Yoshio Kojima. Wakana Aoi will appear on Tuesdays, Kashiyuka on Wednesdays, and Kojima on Thursdays.
Aoi said, "I haven't had much to do with news programs in my work until now, but they have always felt very close to me since I was a child, and I have thought of them as an important tool to connect with the world. I think it is a program that is watched by a variety of people in a variety of situations. As a person who belongs to society, I would like to look at the events of the day and the feelings of many people together with everyone from my own perspective."
Kashiyuka commented, "I'm very happy to have been given the opportunity to learn about and think about the questions and anxieties we have in our daily lives, and things that we would like to be more interested in but have left unanswered because we don't know the details about them. I hope that by looking at things from various angles without bias, I can expand the options for the future together with the viewers."
Kojima said, "Right now I'm bringing energy to all over the country with live shows for children, writing songs about vegetables, and interviewing farmers about their harvesting experiences. I don't just treat any news as something that doesn't concern me, but instead point it at myself and learn together with my viewers. I hold the words 'Love and know the evil, hate and know the good' close to home. I will do my best, being careful not to make biased opinions or comments that are simply swayed by the flow! Yes! Oppappi!"
"News Zero" is broadcast from 11:00 pm to 11:59 pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 11:30 pm to 12:30 am on Fridays. The main caster is Takahiko Fujii.
