Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea:What happened on the night when the fates of "Teppei"(Ryunosuke Kamiki) and "Asako" (played by Hana Hana Sugisaki) were decided? (Spoilers from the previous episode)

The final episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama " Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea " (Sunday 9pm) starring Ryunosuke Kamiki will be broadcast as a two-hour special on December 22nd.

In the previous episode, Reo (Kamiki) goes to the police station to be arrested, but is sent home. Izumi ( Nobuko Miyamoto) goes to pick him up and reminisces about the time when coal was found on Hashima Island again.

"The whole island was in a festive mood. Six months of frustration was finally cleared away," said Izumi with a smile. As for Teppei (Kamiki, playing two roles), she revealed that he had said that he would definitely come back when Hashima Island was restored, but that he had never left the island before with Rina (Elaiza Ikeda) and their son Makoto.

Izumi's grandson, Chikage (Rin Kataoka), wins an auction for valuables from Hashima, including 8mm film. However, the seller cancels the auction, so she calls to complain. "I've been researching Hashima, and I was wondering if I could at least see the valuable materials," says Chikage. The other party (Kenichi Takito) suggests, "If that's the case, why don't you come to my house?" he says. "I live in Tokyo. My name is Koga Takaaki. My parents used to live on Hashima."

In the final episode...Izumi begins to talk about the night Teppei and the others disappeared.

March 1965. Hashima Island has been revived by the production of coal from the new area, and Teppei is seen working hard to get the mining operation underway. However, there are rumors among the islanders that the two are not in a relationship, as Teppei often travels to Nagasaki with Rina to take Makoto to the hospital.

Teppei immediately denies it after hearing about it from Kensho (played by Hiroya Shimizu). However, Teppei shares a secret with Rina that he cannot tell anyone.

Teppei calls Asako (Hana Sugisaki) saying that he has something to talk about. However, on the appointed night, when Asako finishes work, Teppei does not show up. What happened on the night that divided the two of their fates?

A big secret was still hidden in the 10 volumes of Teppei's diary that Izumi had. What is the true meaning of the blacked-out letters and torn pages?

Reo and Izumi visit Nagasaki again. There, they learn about Teppei's feelings. After 70 years, the story of love, youth, friendship, and family finally reaches its conclusion.

The drama is written by Akiko Nogi, directed by Ayuko Tsukahara, and produced by Junko Arai, and is produced by the team behind the TV drama "MIU404" (same network) and the movie "The Last Mile." The story is set in Hashima Island (Gunkanjima) in Nagasaki Prefecture, which developed through coal mining from the early Meiji period to the postwar high economic growth period, and in modern-day Tokyo.
