The eighth episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea" (Sunday 9:00 pm), starring actor Ryunosuke Kamiki, was broadcast on December 15th. Sawada, also known as "Sawadaji", played by Yoshi Sakamoto, became a hot topic on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers
Izumi (Nobuko Miyamoto) was taking a dementia test at the clinic at the recommendation of Kazuma (Toshinori Omi). Izumi's secretary, Sawada (Yoshi Sakamoto), keeps a close eye on Kazuma, suspecting that he might be up to no good.
With the help of Reo (Kamiki), Sawada calls Kazuma to a cabaret club and confronts him about making him take a dementia test. "If he has dementia, the CEO can be fired. It's a fabrication. The private clinic where the president was taken was headed by a former schoolmate of Masahiko (Miyazaki Tomu)," Sawada says, uncovering a conspiracy by Kazuma and his friends to force Izumi to quit.
Meanwhile, Izumi, who is being framed for having dementia due to a fabricated medical certificate, laments, "I'm tired. I feel like the emperor has no clothes, being treated like a nuisance by my children like this..." She sadly adds, "I'm used to being betrayed."
Sawada, who was talking to Reo about Izumi, was indignant and said, "This situation is wrong!". "I don't want to think that I can't do anything, and I don't want that to happen," she said passionately. Meanwhile, Reo said to Sawada, "Sawadaji, maybe you can become Teppei. But Teppei is like that too. If he betrayed Izumi, he must be a scumbag."
There are various opinions on Sawadaji, including the idea that he is Makoto, the son of Rina (Ikeda Elaiza) and Shinpei (Saito Takumi). On social media, comments such as "Sawadaji's name hasn't been mentioned yet, but it's not possible that he's Makoto...? But there's no way Izumi wouldn't notice," "Yuriko (Tsuchiya Tao) and Kensho (Shimizu Hiroya) were the ones who helped Asako set up her company, so isn't Sawadaji the son of Yuriko and Kensho who is by her side?" "I guess he was just a sincere secretary who was devoted to Asako after all," and "Is Teppei Sawadaji..." were posted and became a hot topic.
