The eighth episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea" (Sunday 9:00 pm), starring actor Ryunosuke Kamiki, was broadcast on December 15th. Shinpei, played by Takumi Saito, became a hot topic on social media.

In episode 7, Shinpei, who was trying to retreat from the mine after it was decided to submerge it and abandon it, inhales carbon monoxide and collapses. In episode 8, it is revealed that his companions who turned back took Shinpei to the hospital, but he died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
There was also a scene in which Rina (Elaiza Ikeda) looked at her crying son Makoto and said sadly, "I don't think this child will remember Shinpei's face."
